What You Should Know About Your Peugeot Key Fob

Keyless Entry
In addition to unlocking and opening your car doors, certain key fobs can also be used to start the engine. This is useful when the vehicle has to be left on a hot day or when the car's boot is filled with heavy objects that make it difficult to manually open the door. To open the car using your key fob, simply press the unlock button several times in quick intervals. The door locks will unlock and a red light will start to flash. If not then the battery in the key fob could be dead and requires replacement. In addition, RF interference from nearby buildings may cause interference to your system.
Another cool feature is that some key fobs contain a physical key that can be used to unlock the car (often only for the driver's door but sometimes for the boot too). You can open them by lifting the flap or pressing the button. The key can then slide out of an opening in the case to open the lock.

Some key fobs have a separate remote engine start button (for example Ford's key fob sports an arrow that is circular and going clockwise) that you need to press to remotely start your car. Mazdas, for instance, require you to first lock the key and then press the Start button.
If you're unable start your car, you might have a weak or dead battery inside the key fob. The battery inside the key fob isn't as strong to send a signal to the car's system.

Door Locks

This typically happens when you notice an alert on your dashboard saying 'anti-theft system active' or a warning lamp that reads "immobiliser failure".
